Mr Napolitano, the current Italian president, although being, in theory, sympathetic to Prodi and his government, has been protecting the interests of the Italian population too. He recently told the politicos to get their acts together. Well done sir!
Why can these presidents act with integrity? Simple. They are older people at the ends of their careers, so they can concentate on doing what is right, and not simply protecting interests. And this keeps Italy from going over the top, I reckon.
