Keeping Abreast of Equal Opportunities

Meet Mara Carfagna, alias  “Mara La Bella” (“Beautiful Mara”) Italy’s hot new minister for equal opportunities.

Wicked rumours circulating in Italy have it that she and a certain forgetful billionaire are bosom buddies.  Ah, those all night ministerial cabinet meeting sessions must be hell.

Here is a little video of this member of the Berlusconi government first stating how she finds it shocking that women sell their bodies for profit, and then showing Mara showing off some of her ministerial assets, for which one imagines she received cash.

All opportunities are equal, but some are more equal than others.  Isn’t that how the old saying goes?!

Generally, it is clear who captains which political parties in Italy, as you will discover from this nautically flavoured voyage into the world of Italian politics.

I’ll kick off with the battleship.
