Romantic Venice – Italy’s utterly enthralling canal city is an amazing site to behold. See Saint Mark’s, the Doges’ Palace, and the fabulous panoramas over the Venice lagoon.
A trip by boat to the islands of Murano and Burano is another experience not to be missed, as is drinking Italy’s white sparking wine – prosecco, which goes done extremely well with the seafood and fish based menus offered by Venice’s plethora of restaurants.
Do not forget Venice’s famous carnival, during which time parties are everywhere, and the elaborate costumes add to the city’s already enchanting atmosphere. Photographers, like Italy Chronicles’ publisher and writer, Alex Roe, love Venice. Interesting photographs are everywhere. If you can manage it, take a tripod and capture the magic of Venice by night.
Although Venice is visited by many tourists each year, it is possible to find quiet corners even during the busiest of periods.
A week may be enough to see all Venice has to offer, but do not be surprised if you feel the urge to return, or even to buy a retreat there.
