Archaeologists embark on new digs in Pompeii, to unravel the stories of the people that lived and died here. They race against the clock to unearth a sacrificial skull, uncover clues from the tomb and mummified body of a curiously wealthy freed slave, and venture into stiflingly narrow tunnels beneath the central bathhouse.

<video:description><![CDATA[travel videos & photos at: https://townsofeurope.com/ with text, maps & links.
The famous public square in the heart of Siena is Piazza Del Campo. There are 10 different entrances to the piazza: the alleys and staircases and ramps and little lanes and several of those alleys are a good place to get a quick bite to eat as you're entering the Campo even though the company was a little hidden from view from the main pedestrian lanes you'll find that it's very easy to gain access nearly 500 feet wide and surrounded by shops restaurants in the towering Palazzo politico this is the very heart of town. Il Campo symbolizes the government in various ways -- one message the leaders proclaim with his large square was that they would rule the city properly and were therefore not worried about a revolution nor a gathering of large groups of people. The piazza’s divided by brick lines into sections that represent the governing Council of Nine at the time it was paved in 1349, which some people feel today that was the best government they ever had. Nine merchants and bankers ruled desiring to make themselves and everyone else rich and with the theme that all were welcome to participate the Council of nine presented a very new kind of democratic message for the Middle Ages at work so well that Siena became one of the richest cities in Europe. Like most of the rest of town the surface here is slanted along the slope of the hill adding an unusual dimension to this beautiful gathering place. Piazza Del Campo was and remains today the principal public space of the historic center and is regarded as one of Europe's greatest medieval squares it's renowned worldwide for its beauty and its architectural heritage. The Fonte Gaia, which means "fountain of happiness" was built in 1419 as an endpoint of the system of conduits bringing water into the city center. Construction of Palazzo Pubblico, or City Hall, began in the late 13th century in classic Sienese Gothic style]]></video:description>

<video:title><![CDATA[Breaking the Calabrian Mafia in Italy | Foreign Correspondent]]></video:title>
<video:description><![CDATA[For years, a ruthless mafia has ruled Calabria through intimidation and violence. Now prosectuors are taking them on, charging hundreds in one of the biggest trials in decades. But can the Italian state beat the country's most powerful mafia organisation?

The Calabrian mafia began local but over recent decades it's transformed into a powerful, multi-national criminal organisation, with an estimated turnover of 80 billion dollars a year.

Now Italian prosecutors are running a maxi-trial against members of a family they allege is one of the ‘Ndrangehta’s most powerful clans – the Mancusos.

More than 300 members and associates of the Mancusos have been arrested.

The charge sheet is sobering. It includes murder, extortion, drug trafficking and money laundering.

In this gripping crime saga, Fran Kelly travels to Vibo Valentia to tell the story of this historic attempt to curb the power of the ‘Ndrangheta.

She gains access to the man leading the trial, Chief Prosecutor Nicola Gratteri. He’s been investigating the Calabrian mafia for decades and has long been on the mafia’s kill list.

“There’s always tension. There’s always fear and you must always be careful”, he tells Kelly as he drives to court surrounded by his security motorcade. “You have to tame fear and talk to death.”

Kelly speaks with community members who now feel emboldened to speak out against the mafia.

‘The number of people turning on the mafia has increased’, says anti-mafia activist Giuseppe Borrello. ‘It’s new for Vibo Valentia.”

Gratteri’s actions have given hope to Sara Scarpulla, whose son was blown up in a car bomb organised by a member of the Mancuso family.

Kelly also speaks to an anti-mafia prosecutor in Milan, Italy’s financial heart, where the ‘Ndrangheta has established a strong presence.

In Calabria, not everyone in the community is rallying behind Nicola Gratteri’s maxi-trial.

“There’s vicious mudslinging aimed at the Prosecutor]]></video:description>

Tip tap!
Maledetta ballerina lei sapeva cosa dire
Devi capire! La nobile arte non deve aspettare, mai
Ho spento la bajour, è l' ora dell'amor
Ho spento la bajour, è l' ora dell'amor
Tip tap, oh mia dolce ballerina di tip tap!
Tip tap, maledetta ballerina di tip tap!
Tip tap!
