Italy, One, P2, P3
Strange days in Italy. Whilst digging into illicit goings on surrounding the awarding of contracts for wind farms in Sardinia, Italy’s carabinieri police appear to have uncovered the insidious sequel to a mysterious illegal masonic group known as Propaganda 2, or P2 for short. Italy’s press have wasted no time in labelling the sequel, Propaganda 3. Or P3 for short.
Ill Winds Blowing from Sardinia
Yet another story of corruption is reverberating around Italy’s press as I write. This time, in the wake of the Berlusconi government’s embarrassment over the Aldo Brancher affair, various people are alleged to have been tampering with tenders for the construction of wind farms on the Italian island of Sardinia.
Silvio Berlusconi Calling

Ructions in Berlusconi’s Legions
Whether you admire the man or not, you have to admit that Berlusconi has done rather well to have kept himself in power in Italy. Sex scandals, court cases, accusations of media manipulation, election bungles, and a forthcoming divorce relating to suspected philandering, all seem to have dropped away like water off a duck’s back.
Was Forza Italia Formed by the Mafia? Part 1
If you did not know, Forza Italia was the Italian political party which proceeded what is now Berlusconi’s People of Freedom party. Recently in Italy two convicted criminals have stated during court hearings that the Forza Italia party was the product of an agreement between Berlusconi and the mafia.
Legitimate Impediment is Not A Blockbuster
Legitimate Impediment is not, as one might think, the latest Hollywood blockbuster courtroom drama about to burst onto 3d screens in cinemas around the world near you. Instead, it is the latest ruse by Italy’s colourful leader to get himself of embarrassing legal hooks.
How Laws Become Laws in Italy
This is just a quick post on how laws end up becoming so in Italy, as well as some brief comment on an interesting new law which is being dressed up as a reform.
