It never rains but it pours.

Unfortunately my mother in law is in hospital again. The poor lady’s health has never been great, and years of chain smoking have finally caught up with her. Collapsing lungs, thyroid, heart and breathing problems, excessive weight loss, and loss of appetite.

All in all, not good. My other half is distraught and has been down in Genova for the last week with our little one. She seems to be expecting the worse, even if this her mother has been in hospital a few times before now.

Stop reading, start speaking

Stop translating in your head and start speaking Italian for real with the only audio course that prompt you to speak.

I’m off down to Genova this afternoon to attempt to bring our little one back to Milan, so at least my other half will have, possibly, one less thing to deal with/ worry about.

To cap it all, and on top of everything else, I’ve got three new courses kicking off this week, and do not have everything ready yet (not my fault).

It never rains but it pours.

Ever wondered which books people read when they think about Italy? Well, one easy way to find out is to see what’s hot on Amazon. In this case, it’s Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk from which I’ve compiled a list of the best selling books on Italy. If you are stuck for Christmas present inspiration, then this post might be a gift to you.

Before you look at the complete list, try to guess which books on Italy people are buying. Some may surprise you, as the Italian connection is not always that obvious.
