Mr P’, the current boss of all that is made in Italy, is off to a good start. The country’s accounts are in a dodgy state so Mr P’s associates are making noises about necessary ‘maneuvers’ to sort the problem out.

It does not take a genius to work out that some form of tax increase is on the cards.

Stop reading, start speaking

Stop translating in your head and start speaking Italian for real with the only audio course that prompt you to speak.

Can’t our lords and masters come up with some other way of filling the states coffers? It would appear not. That would require some real genius, now wouldn’t it.

I hope I am wrong, but I have my doubts. Sometimes one misses the creative accounting of Mr B. Hey ho, it’s on with life we go.

Last night the final of four instalments of Vieni Via Con Me, an Italian television programme designed to shed some light on contemporary Italy, was shown.

Vieni Via Con Me, which was presented by anti-mafia activist and author Roberto Saviano and socially aware chat show host Fabio Fazio was watched by 8.7 million Italians lat night. In total not far short of 40 million Italian viewers tuned into this programme which risked being banned.
