Milan’s Funny Man

Last night I shot a chirpy little flower wielding chappy who sits on a wall across the road from where I live in Milan.

In case you were wondering, I shot the chap with my camera.

The perky little wall dwelling man is actually one of the better examples of Milan’s invasive, and at times, mindless graffiti.   Even if it is not up to Banksy’s level, it’s fun all the same.

Stop reading, start speaking

Stop translating in your head and start speaking Italian for real with the only audio course that prompt you to speak.

Graffiti or art?  You decide.  And the flower the chap is offering to an unseen, and probably taller, apple of his eye, is a wallflower!  Sorry, could not resist.

Why did I shoot this chap at night?  Good question – I was playing with some snoots.  There, bet you wished you’d never asked!  OK, here’s a ‘snooty’ shot of the same little chap – tweaked a little in Photoshop to show the snoot effect to, er, good effect:

A quick note: Regular visitors to my blog will know that I tend to tinker rather more than I should with the overall layout of this ‘ere blog. In keeping with my tendency towards tinkering, I’ve created a new left hand column, which is an extension of the former bottom left hand column which only magically appears on the home page.

Cynar by Campari

The range of amari or bitters in Italy is extensive. Certainly before I came to this country I had not heard of many and I wonder how many outside of Italy are aware of these somewhat different tipples, such as Cynar.
