Cherrye speaks very highly of the Sila Mountain area which is down near Catanzaro and only 40 minutes or so away from Il Cedro, and she thinks that Villaggio Mancuso is a must visit place! She says that the Sila Mountains are beautiful and very much like their well known bigger cousins the Alps up in north Italy.
Oh, and you can also go skiing, and you will find small but lovely and peaceful ski resorts in this area. Probably not a bad area for those who wish to learn to ski or snowboard, or even kite ski in your own time on uncrowded pistes!
