Artful Moves

September 9, 2008 by Alex Roe

Italy is in, Blog from Italy’s sister site dedicated to showing off to the world Italian contemporary artists and their art, attracted the attention of an Italian hacker.

Fortunately this hacker did not try to take Italy is in down.  No, on the contrary, he wanted to tell me about a project he is running.  And this intriguing project combines two quite different art forms, hacking and painting.

Sorry, but I’m not going to give you all the details just yet, because I’m still absorbing all the information the art hacker pack leader has furnished me with.  The more I read about this odd combination though, the more I become enthralled.

Actually, coming up with an article for my Italy is in site may prove to be something of a challenge, but I like things I can really sink my keyboard into, so to speak.

I’ll let you know when I’ve finally come up with something I like, and the article will name names and reveal all.

In addition to chatting with a hacker, I am also pleased to be able to announce that shortly over on Italy is in, 10 or so more contemporary Italian artists will soon be added to the ‘portfolio’.  This will bring the total number of Italian artists featured or mentioned on Italy is in to around 20 or so.

My partner in crime is doing a lot of the round up of artists, and, slowly, word is being spread.

Should you wish to help out a little, then point all the art collectors, architects, interiour and other designers towards Italy is in.  They may well find some interesting art which could be incorporated in a variety of different products, everything from plates and dishes to beds and bed clothes, and even the odd car interiour or two.

My voyage of exploration into the Italian contemporary art world is proving to be fascinating, and this is only the beginning.
