Yuletide markets in Milan

If you go down to the centre of Milan over the next few days, you will probably notice that there are a couple of Christmas markets – one along Via Orefici and another down near Piazza San Babila. I had a quick look at the stalls, and there are some nice bits and bobs on offer.

So, if you have overdone the festive food and wine a little, and you feel like burning of the odd Yuletide calorie or so, you could head on down to Milan centre and have a browse around the stalls. Then, if you find the crowds rather overwhelming, or if you are one of those lucky people who never puts on the pound, why not head for a nice bar and have a cup of thick hot chocolate with whipped cream on top? Just the thing for this chilly weather.

Try to get there early though, there was a veritable sea of people when I was there this afternoon.

Oh, and if I don’t manage to write anything on this blog tomorrow, which is probable, seeing as we are having a ‘cenone’ (big dinner) with some friends to see the New Year in:

All the very best for a Happy and Prosperous 2008!
