Urban Love

This is a photo I took this morning. The champagne bottle with rose and glass had been abandoned just around the corner from my house here in Milan.

I could not resist, so I popped back with my camera to immortalise this morning-after scene of urban love, even if the abandoned rose might mean that things may not have gone according to plan!

The image has been tinkered with a little, but you’ll be able to see this when you view the photograph.

See what you think.

  1. Possible? Is the Milanese capable of such urban love? Or is it your loving English eye that transfigures things?
    ;-)

  2. Lovely shot, Alex!

@MoR – it does seem as though the Milanese are capable of such love – unless the romantic encounter took place between two Romans in Milan of course;-)
Then again, it could have been my loving English eye, I suppose!

    @Jessica – thanks!

All the best to both of you for Christmas and the New Year!

    Home from Cairo :)

I really enjoyed this shot and ran up and down the length of it on my little laptop more than a few times. I loved everything about it but was curious about the colour of the stem and leaves – were they like that or did you fiddle with the colour there?

I liked the lines in the shot too, just btw.

    Beautiful find.

    Hi Di,

Welcome back from Cairo – I’ll be checking out your blog to hear more about your trip.

    Glad you liked this shot.

The result is the product of playing around with saturation, but keeping the rose as red as possible. Indeed, the red has been highlighted to add to the effect.

With hindsight I could have used the lines to better effect.

    All the best,

    Alex
