It's good to hear that Saviano's bravery has reached to places as far a field as Memphis too.As for Saviano's dooming himself, he gave the impression that perhaps he did not expect, in this day and age, to put his life at risk by writing about the camorra. In doing so he has demonstrated just how terrifying these people can be. The Italian government seems unable, too scared or unwilling to do much either. Only a few heroes like Saviano have to guts to stand up and be counted.Best regards from Milan,Alex

Hi Michelle,

Thanks for popping in and reading, and thanks to Diana for spreading the word. I read Gomorrah and was impressed by Saviano's bravery and blown away by the fact that by exposing the Camorra he was in effect dooming himself to the life he is now living. He truly is, as you say, a hero. Thanks for writing about this Alex.

First, thanks to Diana for pointing people to your great post. His anguish is evident, and he has put his life on the line - in the hope that he can save other, often young, lives. He is a hero.He deserves a Noble Peace Prize. And I too hope he has an angel on his shoulder.I genuinely hope that he can shake Italy up.As for the Catholic Church, it really seems to have lost direction, and is unable or unwilling to do much which is worthwhile these days - even if the less public side of the Catholic Church - people such as the late Father Peppe Diana - does care.Kindest regards,AlexPS Do send this post to your friends - please spread the word - thanks.

Hi Diana,

After having seen Saviano on Fazio’s program, I really felt I had to write about him.
