Making it legal and getting off the streets would be an intelligent move. Heaven knows what the good old RC church would make of the legalisation of prostitution in Italy though!

Still, it is a problem, and an age old one at that, brushing it under the carpet will never help though.

Of all people, Ms Mussolini seems to have the best law proposed. As long as there are hopeless men, there will be helpful prostitutes. RI changed the laws when 5 prostitutes sued the state for selective prosecution, the police were only arresting the sex workers. The state changed the law making only street walking illegal.
