Milan’s Spectacular Duomo Cathedral

Saturday, despite being very close to the tail end of November, was a fabulously sunny day here in Milan, Italy. I was out and about, exited the Duomo metro stop and was confronted by the Duomo, Milan’s incredibly ornate cathedral, which, owing to its location, is the city’s centerpiece and what a centerpiece it is!

The afternoon light was lovely and so I whipped out my trusty Blackberry and took a photograph. Here it is. Quite a few people on Twitter liked this photograph too, so I thought I’d add it to Italy Chronicles.

Spectacular, isn’t it? I hope you like the photograph.

I’ll never forget the day I first saw Milan’s Duomo – catching sight of it for the first time literally took my breath away. I’d go so far as to say that it’s one of those sights that at least once in your life you must see. Actually, Italy has quite a number of ‘must see’ sights with Milan’s Duomo being merely one of many.

Oh, as you can see, and contrary to what Milan residents may grumpily claim, Milan is not always overcast during the autumn and winter months.
