I understand Riccardo’s POV. I feel lucky to live in a fairly prosperous part of Italy, but even here when I try to match up what I see to what is reported by the treasury department in Italy , my eyes start to cross.

Was a time when the consumer show on Rai talked about Italians having a hard time making it through the month. Like magic that has dried up! So why am I paying 109 euro a year for B’s propaganda machine?

I see evidence of rot right across the public world, so it’s my guess that could I see through the surface I’d be really shocked.

I don’t know your language as well as I would like so I’ll try to write down my toughts about your interesting post ( I had read the ones you have proposed to me) translated into my bad english. shortly I have friends all around my country and they don’t seem me so homogenous in their state of wealthy. how can I say ? in my opinion a high average condition doesn’t involve enough resources for an acceptable way of living for all subjects of the society. Money, culture, honesty, quality medical treatments seem to be random jewels in a matrix of chalk, or mud More: I am really frightened because we have lost some valid side of our culture and we aren’t able to replace them with something REAL. la società dell’immagine è una società che non si cura della sostanza, do you understand me ? so long

Thanks for the links to the videos. I know that Italy is full of hidden treasures, I know too that there are wonderful people in Italy – I’ve been in Italy for more than ten years.

I like living in Italy, but I do wish the better aspects of Italy could shine through and place the not so good aspects firmly in the shade.

The answer is ‘No, life in Italy is not bad’. some views of a Region not that known. I have appreciated the words you wrote about my country. maybe you’re Point Of View is too close to a northern habitat and in South things are more hard…
anyway I really hope you’ll live happy time in Italy. please, if you like to travel try to visit the whole country. every little town has its hidden treasure even if it is often tied to big problem
