Just Plain Weird

I caught myself at it today, and I realised that I always do it.

I live in Italy. I work in Italy. I speak to my other half in Italian. I speak to my son in English. I speak Italian.

So, why oh why do I speak to our dog in English?

It’s just plain weird.

i’m confused … are you saying it’s weird to speak to your dog in english because …. you speak to your son in english as well?

    o___O

Not weird at all. Eveyone KNOWS that dogs speak English!

I have 7 dogs. If I talk to them in Italian, they give me the third claw.

@Jan – yep, I find it strange that I talk to the dog in English. The dog is not the same as my son, or maybe he is, which is why I’m trying to make the puppy bilingual too!

Gege’ – either we are both weird, or both perfectly normal!

I wonder how may other ex-pats living with Italians speak to their dogs in English, or whatever their native language is.

Almost an idea for a new poll!

All the best to both of you,

    Alex
