After a break, the Guess Where in Italy? series is back! To kick things off, here is one of my own photographs of Italy
Have you any idea whereabouts in Italy I took this picture?
I suspect that only those who have spent some time wondering around this charming Italian city will recognize it and know what it is called, and be able to say where it is in Italy. It’s a lovely city too -well worth visiting.
On to the photograph.
Can You Guess in Which Italian City this Photograph was Taken?
This is just for fun.
If nobody has managed to guess the answer by Monday, I’ll post clues until somebody gets the answer.
ANSWER: As guessed correctly by super guesser Nora, the Italian city shown in the photograph above is Mantua. I liked Mantua, and would say that it is a place which is well worth visiting.

I guess the obvious answer would be Venice ?!
Nope, not Venice. That would be far too easy!
Best,
Alex
treviso?
No, not Treviso either.
Cheers,
Alex
than Asolo
Not Asolo either, Maya.
it can be Padova.
No, Riccardo, it is not Padova.
Thanks for trying!
Is it Milan? I Navigli?
No, Kathy, it is not Milan!
Looks similar to the area near Lucca and Bagna di Lucca, too.
Bonnie(valetinoswife)
No, Bonnie. Nowhere near Lucca
I can’t wait to find out, it’s very pretty! I’m guessing northern Italy. My husband and I just moved to the Naples area two weeks ago and we’re looking to travel to some “hidden gems”. Love the blog!
Hi Rachel and welcome to Italy!
You are right, it is a city in northern Italy. The question now is ‘Which?’.
I liked it a lot, I have to say.
Humm…. fun game! My guess is Bologna. I look forward to finding out the answer!
Ciao Laura -thanks for having a go, but it’s not Bologna.
Hi Alex,
It’s nice that you are using one of your own lovely photos for this quiz. It makes it even more fun! I’ve been here and after searching through some of my photos I now know that your picture is of the canal in the beautiful city of Mantua (Mantova) in Lombardy. Did you visit the Palazzo Te there? The frescoes inside are magnificent and unforgettable.
Best wishes,
Nora
Hi Nora,
Good to hear from you, and, as is often the case, you are 100% right! Well done:)
Your ability to recognize out of the way corners of Italy is phenomenal!
Best,
Alex
